Let's get one thing out of the way.

It doesn't matter if you're a sales person, sales manager, GSM, GM, or the dealer principal. You all have a responsibility to do everything possible that converts people into paying customers.

Here's the thing.

Leads get ignored by everyone I just mentioned and rather than do nothing about it, do this.

2 hours after the internet lead shows up in the inbox, copy and paste this email down below.

Subject: Did you get it?

Body: Hey (insert first name),

You asked for some info.

I always check on anyone that asks questions, so did you get what you were looking for?

I'm the (insert who you are. sales manager, owner, salesperson, etc.)

If yes, please hit reply and let me know so I don’t keep bombarding you with more emails.

If not, then just reply with 'no' and I'll make sure you get what you were looking for.

First you check out the local dealers. They've got buttons. Click the 'Request a Quote'.

Next, answer the questions... and wait.

Unless you were fortunate enough to locate a 'special' dealership... or salesperson, you check your inbox and get the following quick response.

Subject: Thank you for contacting us

Thanks you for your interest. We will be in contact with you shortly.

Although it's a response, it's only an auto reposnder.

Does it matter?

Is that a 1st impression?

You're about to find out.

It turns out that any response or lack of response does matter. 

If you haven't paid attention to the research that is handled by Pied Piper, they're the group that is helps the biggest powersports brands make their investors happy.

The chart above has a range of 0 to 100.

No one scored above 55! That's an F in my grade book. 

Do you know anyone that doesn't call a score of 55 an F?

Me neither.

Is the F word a forbidden word cause of the new 'don't offend anyone' society?

Last year that high score was 61.

Could this be part of the reason Imperial Sportbikes went from being an unknown 1 man showroom to the #2 Aprilia dealer in less than 3 years?

That's part of it.

First... they saw the results you're staring at.

Next, they admitted they were part of the problem.

In 3 minutes they fixed problem #1. The auto responder. (the cheat sheet they used is at the end of this)

Next, they looked at what else should be fixed, made some more changes, measured the results, kept tweaking (not that kind), and then BOOM!

Other dealerships and sales teams said, "but those are manufacturer grades!" We're different... 

You could be right, but maybe you're part of the 'everyone gets a trophy' group.

Only 14% of dealerships scored over 80.

#2: Act like a customer. Click on the Request a Quote... or whatever you call it.

#3: Input your info.

#4: Don't check your inbox just yet! What do you see? That's right... nothing good. You're still on the same page.

#5: Now, check your inbox. What do you see now? Likely it's the same email that your web provider set you and 5,000 other dealerships up with.

#6: Do something about it.

If it looks like crap. Fix it!
